Biography
My interest is in the human being in front of me - specifically in the thoughts and feelings of that person, communicated through their face, their body and their pose.
When working with photos to commission I find both carefully composed shots and those that are happy accidents equally fascinating. The client’s choice gives me clues about how they’d like the sitter to be portrayed - whether this is themselves or a loved one.
And a portrait does not have to be full of light and smiles! Some of the most powerful are more complicated than that, marking a transition or a significant time in life. This is what I seek to capture and elevate.
