About Jedidiah Fleming

The book, as a source of medium, oftentimes provides the inspiration for the art in progress as I look through the pages and begin cutting into it, layer by layer. More often, I begin with a theme in mind and use my collection of imagery that I have mined from other books that I converted into art. I really enjoy working with natural themes, such as the flora, fauna, and fungi of our kingdom, but I also enjoy exploring other genres such as science, engineering, and metaphysics. I would love to sell on Artfinder because I want to bring exposure to this dioramic art that uses old, and preferably worn-out/damaged books as an eclectic new medium for contemporary art that can be displayed on a shelf or hung on a wall. I believe my art would be desired by those with a great love of books, like myself, and/or those with home libraries, which I someday hope to own.
