About James Lytton
Biography
I use black pen for the bulk of my work. My intention is to blend my use of free and expressive marks in order to build mood and expression, whilst also using controlled and considered marks in an attempt to build a certain realism to the images. At the moment I am enjoying the process of making these two counterparts compliment each other.
The majority of my work is in black and white, with a lot of attention spent on light and shadow. The artists of chiaroscuro have always been a massive influence on me.
