Deserves much more than 5 stars. Very talented and lovely and generous family. Makes Russia come alive . Full of emotion. Exciting work. Strong colours work together strikingly in an unusual orchestra of colour, mood and texture. His buildings glorify the craftsmanship of Old Russia's wooden houses, straight out of The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov. His colours seem edible. His people illustrate the joy of ordinary life. Exquisite. I now have quite a collection of this family's lovely creations which bring new joy each time I see them or remember them in my mind's eye. They enrich the world. Ilshat and Yan have certainly left their mark on the world : a giant acrylic and pastel rainbow of JOY.
