    PAINTING OUTDOORS

    I love painting outdoors. It is usually full of adventure... wind blowing bigger canvas around the place, insect sitting on the yellow color, ever changing light conditions and much more... BUT: my best memories of painting remain those from outdoor (en plain-air) and I think it can be felt from my paintings too.

    This painting was made on the edge of the mountain, morning frost and temperature that I could hardly stand with my bare hands. I love experimenting and was lucky that the little snow hill was stable enough that nothing fell down.

    Experimenting with painting outdoors is fun. In winter, the temperature makes me definitely work faster and make shorter sessions or smaller canvases. The good news is that acrylics are more frostproof than I expected.

    I just love painting outdoors. Sometimes, when the light gets too bright, a good hat helps a lot. Sunglasses are useless in such moments, because they would change the shades of the colors I see around me.
