My son doesn't understand why I like this big, simple pastel line drawing so much, but I do. There is something about its raw simplicity that just draws my eye back to it, over and over.

It was a very great pleasure to acquire these two fine works, wih highly contrasting styles. The image of the person shows a truly unique style, a very powerful way of communicating the emotional pain of the subject. It really is such a striking image. (There was another image that was perhaps even more striking, which I had in my basket but someone else bought it first!). The second piece has a very different emotional tone, a lovely warm landscape (enhanced by the gold leaf used as part of its creation, along with the acrylic and watercolour). Just to look at it (and it is quite a large piece) conveys a sense of happiness and serenity.
