The artist contacted me and kept me informed throughout the process. Her paintings are beautifully painted, and hark back to European academic paintings that were done in the 1850's, when they traveled to The Middle East, and used that for their subject matter. I especially like Oriental Street Scene 3012, which depicts a buyer, a seller, and three women who are being sold as either slaves or prostitutes. When I could look at the painting, I was able to see the expressions of depression and horror on the women's faces, as well as the avarice of the man selling them. The other painting depicts family life, and has wonderful architectural elements, in the setting that the family are in.

I am very pleased with these paintings. Jean-Michel was most understanding when I cancelled my original order, having realised the painting was just too big for the space. So I ended up with two I liked even more. I love the colour of the larger canvas with the fishing boats and the subdued palate of the painting of Locronan.

Beautifully done piece. I decided to do a food-related theme of paintings in my kitchen (imagine that!) and this piece fit in perfectly. Very realistic looking...almost like a photograph. I've already gotten numerous compliments on the quality of this piece! Thanks very much!!!
