About Gary Boyes

My work is about my relationship with the world. I feel that people and objects have a poetry of emotions between them. Every moment of interaction between us and the make-up of the world has something that I wish to capture in my paintings. Through textures and light I try to portray a sense of mystery and questioning. I wish to convey an otherwise unexpected awareness of people and objects that illuminates them in subtle ways.I like to have fun, interacting characters with each other in imaginative places whilst suggesting an underlying magical energy that connects us to each other and the earth.
