Biography
Growing up in New York City, I was exposed to the visual clash of my urban surroundings, the painted walls, decaying exteriors, torn-up ads and the effect that time and the elements had on surfaces. This backdrop and a fascination with the abstract expressionism movement played a major role in me becoming an artist.
My work can reference current events, present day personal experiences, visual childhood anecdotes and family relationships in life and books. This allows me to create frenetic psychologically-charged imagery with energetic abstractions bursting with color. I work with acrylic markers and paints using mostly palette knives. Bright colors and raw textures are an essential element in my work.
