    Special place for large sizes paintings

    Special place for large sizes paintings

    This is the place where I work on my large sizes paintings : it's a sort of cube, made in wood panel, with good artificial light, in the bottom of the cellar, sort of artificial cavern, dug by people in ancient times, in my troglodytic house. After working on backgrounds paintings, I often take the canvas to the daylight to adjust colors. I wait to nice weather to photograph them outside.

    Good painting session today !

    Good painting session today, especially the last five paintings, made with diluted, dirty, mixed colors, at the end of the session ! ... I prefer take off the painting very diluted than adding paste. I am a "watercolor like" oil painting maker ! :-)

    Video : large size painting performance

    On Sunday, July 2nd, took place the Pussigny's large size painting competition : 30 artists, 30 XXL canvases hung on the streets of the village. 8 hours to make a painting of 8 m². Size of the painting: 4mX2m (157"X78") The contest starts at 9am. Lift the brush at 5pm. Deliberation and award ceremony at 6pm. No price for me this year, but I got the 1st prize three years ago, and a third prize last year. The works remain exposed in the streets of Pussigny until the end of October 2017.

    Here is "Foliages", acrylic on canvas, 157"X78", painted yesterday at the XXL size contest, at Pussigny, the smaller village of Indre et Loire in France. 30 painters, 30 XXL canvases in the street of Pussigny. Each artist has 8 hours to paint his/her 157"X78" canvas. Big art. No award for me this year. But the absolute pleasure to challenge !!!
