About Erika Colgrove
Biography
I struggled for many years to find the value of art and my place in creating it. I was always a bit confused about why everyone else seemed to “get it” and enjoyed making it. I took drawing and pottery in high school and struggled miserably in both. The highlight of my high school art creations was a two-foot tall ashtray made to look like a lumpy palm tree. When I got to college, I found a loophole that allowed me to take creative writing instead of art. A few years ago, I found myself drawn in by various different works of art. I started to understand visual appeal and the emotional connection that art has with life. It was because of this emotional evolution that I became interested in capturing some of this beauty in paint. I hope you enjoy my art.
