About Dragomir Minkov (DRAGO)

  • Biography

I was born in the town of Gabrovo, Bulgaria.
    Graduated from the
Fine Art School of Tryavna, Bulgaria.
For many years I have worked as a designer,
    now I am a full-time artist.
My style has many influences and most of them are references in my artistic ideals, ranging from surreal and fantasy art to the symbolism and magical realism. I prefer to work with oils, but also enjoy working with pencils,
ink and mixed media. Many of my artworks are purchased for private and institutional collections in Bulgaria, Poland, USA, Australia, Switzerland, Finland.

My source of inspiration is the world that surrounds us, but my art is not "realistic", in literally, quite the contrary - it's a sort of travel into a magical parallel world, where the real actions are activating an imaginative reactions. In my art, I keep searching for the balance between the real and unreal, true and false, past and future.
