    In the Studio

    At work in my studio where I often have multiple pieces on the go at one time. I'll work on each piece for weeks, sometimes months at a time, allowing the glazes and layers to dry and set before adding more. Here I am working on A Ti Plant in Silverlake, CA, and Red Camellia on a London Street, which both use the same minimal pigments - something I do in my practice to ensure minimal waste of every material.

    Working on an underpainting for my piece Callas at the Bellagio, Autumn 2024. I always start with a detailed underpainting which forms the basis for my layers of glazes, using a combination of methods including the removal of the paint to lift and soften the lighter areas.
