About Darren Rose

  • Biography

My photographic journey began whilst completing a Fine Art Painting Degree, and despite a prolonged break from producing artwork, a background in painting still influences my approach to photography today.

Currently living in Central Bedfordshire, the local landscapes provide a lot of the material for my images, including tree plantations, rejuvenated heaths and man-made lakes and reservoirs.

Alongside traditional approaches, creative photographic techniques such as Long exposures, intentional camera movement and multiple exposures all play a key part in my work. A wide variety of different film cameras, including pinhole and 'toy' cameras, help me interpret the landscape rather than simply capture a photographic record of it.

I have been in a number of group shows in Bedfordshire, including exhibitions in London, Hertfordshire and Nottinghamshire. In January 2017, I held my first solo show which explored the variety and diversity of his local landscape. I have also had work exhibited in the UK, as well as having images published in UK magazines.
