I have purchased multiple pieces from Darren, and they all are so beautiful. This last painting that I commissioned him to do of our family property is even more beautiful than the actual photo that I sent him. It is extraordinary! It stirs up many memories when I look at it. This is a cute, and quite touching, winter scene. It's very nicely done, as are all of Mr. Carey's works, but what I like best is the simple, yet personal, aspect of his paintings. Many characters are faceless, the scenes quite common, and yet you have to stop for moment, look at them and think. You can't help feeling that perhaps you have met those people, been to that bar, read a book in that park. There's a calm familiarity that I find very appealing.
