This talented and uncompromising artist paints the scenes that move him personally. Danil Shurykin takes inspiration seriously.His sensitive eye for nature translates the feeling that the scene created in him.He paints atmosphere with as much care as the subject itself. He can take a clump of frozen weeds in January and make it beautiful.He can show the color of light streaming between leaves on an autumn day. In "Sunset" he has chosen the unusual subject of the aftermath of a landscape torched by fire.His choice of colors,the leafless branches ,the singed clumps still clinging against a mixed blue and cloudy sky,the warmth of the sunset,the cold blue and purple of the smoking embers all compliment each other. Danil Shurkkin"s often stark and delicate paintings remind me of Andrew Wyeth.He reveals his vision clearly.I cant wait to see more of his work!
