  • Biography
    My name is Maxim Chukin, I'm from Orenburg, Russia. I've been doing art since I was a kid. I received an art education in college at the Faculty of Design. After graduation, I took a great interest in murals, doing them in interiors and on facades. But all this time I was looking for my style and tried various directions. Unfortunately I didn't immediately listen to my interests and the understanding came many years later. I am very fond of poster art, as well as geometrics and minimalism; they have defined my style and the direction in which I work. I am inspired by the urbanity of the city and how it interacts with nature. The environment is full of many complexities but any complexity is made up of the simple and I like to get at it. I want to understand the importance of the simple. Geometric abstraction with its shapes and lines to reflect my observations, it helps me better explore and understand this world. As I draw another line on the canvas or or the screen of a tablet, it's like I'm cutting off the unnecessary from the object of my of my attention, exposing it. With my work, I want to show the viewer: that anything that can be intimidating, complicated or incomprehensible is in fact not... complicated and incomprehensible. I first do my work digitally and then transfer it to canvas. I use acrylics because of their versatility with different tools - brushes, rollers, spray cans and the airbrush. All of these tools help to convey my idea more accurately. Artfinder attracts me to show my work to a wider audience and to find like-minded people who like geometry and minimalism.
