Christina has such great technical gifts that she can produce paintings that are genuinely photorealistic. But she is also able to do much more than that. ‘Pride’ is a marvellous psychological study, capturing the emotion perfectly and bringing graphic reality to the phrase: ‘beauty is only skin deep’. It is an ongoing pleasure to have her paintings on my wall.

'Incarnation' is intense, beautiful, and uncompromising. The impact is immediate and powerful. The intensity of the subject's gaze makes it hard to look elsewhere. I love the juxtaposition of the meticulously painted, lifelike face (so full of life and passion) with the rough, fiery sweeps of the brush from which it is emerging. (Or maybe it is re-emerging, phoenix-like? There's something old in that expression to my eye...) Christina is remarkably talented and I'm looking forward to watching her continued development in the years ahead.
