  • Biography

    ShinYoung An is from South Korea and obtained her B.F.A in South Korea. She received her M.F.A from the New York Academy of Arts in 2001.

    She has received 32 awards in painting including a 2011 fellowship grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, and a Xavier Gonzalez & Edwards grant for painting from the Artists League of NY in 2003.

    Her work has been shown at numerous exhibitions(8 solo, 2 two-person, and 120 groups) throughout the U.S, Italy, Spain, Japan, and South Korea since arriving in the U.S. in 1995.

    Her work has been reviewed and published in more than 50 critical articles throughout the U.S, Spain, South Korea, the U.K, Italy, Germany, and Australia.
