    At Goodwood 2019

    I really enjoyed exhibiting at the inaugural Sussex Art Fair at Goodwood Racecourse last year. I met a wonderful group of fellow artists and visitors. Here I am on my stand ready for the off!

    My studio. It is my multi-functional workspace and has a few distinct areas. One for painting, (easel in the centre) next to my table of materials on the left. Right of the easel is my table for repairs and framing. Next to this a bookcase full of inspiring art books, then a large plan chest. (My lovely trays of soft pastels live on top of this.) Opposite and out of view is more storage for art materials, my plein air kit and a further table for research (and soup!) The natural light isn't perfect in the studio but I’ve introduced a system which uses daylight bulbs and task lighting which is flexible and works well.

    My palette colours

    My palette colours

    These colours form the basis of my palette. Now and then I add some earth colours and a sap green, which I love. My latest addition is a beautiful cobalt teal, which I have plans for!
