    Autumn in Putivl

    Autumn in Putivl

    My friends and I had an excellent plein air in Sumy region, Ukraine. We were found a sponsor and financing. And finally it turned out. For two weeks we lived in the old town of Putivl and drove through the countryside in search of new interesting subjects for painting. I dreamed about it for a long time and it turned out to assemble a small "team" of real professionals. We did a great job and I shot a lot of video footage. PS. Putivl was first mentioned around 1146 as an important Kiev fortress. "Putivl" comes from the words path ("Put" from ancient Rus) - crossroads , and the city itself is located at the crossroads of great roads that have long led in the northeast to the Vladimir-Suzdal land, in the east to the Polovtsian lands, and in the southeast to Tmutarakan and the Caucasus.

    A short video about the work on the painting "Music of the Rain". It so happened that I started work in 2019, and was able to finish in 2021. It took me some time to understand something. I was looking at the canvas and I didn’t like it, but I didn’t understand why. It took a while before I could get back to work.
