Ripples and Reflections Serie

I was inspired to start this series of paintings when I become aware of the bizarre patterns that appear and instantly disappear on the surface of relatively calm water. They are caused by the interplay of light, shade, wind and nearby objects ( boats, rocks, harbour walls etc) to name but a few. I prefer paintings on a hard surface, rather than canvas, and usually make the wood panels myself to my own specifications. Three coats of acrylic gesso are applied before the oil painting commences.
