About Agnieszka Jopkiewicz

I am photographer from Poland. My photography project is called "Romantic portrait". The photographs  present young women, styled in unique original ways. I design and create all the costumes, using mainly natural, plant based materials. Sometimes I make my ow nonstandard textiles. The beauty of nature has always moved me deeply and is the source of my continuous inspiration. However, my aim is for the costume to complement the model and never to overshadow her, to highlight her beauty, character and spirituality. The model is always the main theme of the photograph. 

I am also the author of the make up and hairstyles.

I graduated from the make-up and special effects school in Paris, called Atelier. For many years, I worked in the fashion and advertisement industry. In 2004, I created a feather attire for a dress of a famous fashion designer, Arcadius,wich was presented at the London Fashion Week as his final piece.

In 2007, I began my own project. I live in Warsaw, Poland.  As background to my outdoor work, I use the authentic old walls and courtyards of Praga, the only Warsaw borough that survived the raids of the 2nd World War. One of my inspirations are, characteristic for the area, little altars of the Madonna, beautifully decorated with flowers, usually located by the gates to the courtyards. You can notice elements of my fascination with those in some of my photographs.

For my work I use Nikon D800E. The older photographs were taken with Nikon D200.

I put all my heart into my projects, I hope they speak to yours.
