About Abigail Long

I have always had a passion for nature and animals, and having spent 25 years in Africa I feel compelled to paint African wildlife. I am particularly drawn to painting antelope as their form closely resembles horses which have always been a big part of my life. I feel the richness of oils best captivates my African pieces, but I also love to paint using enamel based pouring paints which produce some incredible effects as the colours bleed in to one another. I like to use these for doing pet portraits too, or else I use watercolours for a softer feel.
