This original oil painting is one of the latest artworks of the talented contemporary Bulgarian professional artist Grigor Velev, deeply inspired by surrealism, naturalism and photorealism. It represents one beautiful purple iris flower portrait with many nude human figures climbing on it, as its trait is to present the world solely from a subjective perspective, distorting it radically for emotional effect in order to evoke moods or ideas. The showy flowering plant takes its name from the Greek word for a rainbow, which is also the name for the Greek goddess of the rainbow, Iris.
