Hi all,
Welcome to our ongoing Q&A feature, where we introduce a member of the Artfinder team to our community. This time, we speak with Jenny, our Head of Trade & Partnerships.
Q: Could you start by introducing yourself to our community?
Hello, I’m Jenny. I love art, interiors, and working with artists to bring joy to collectors and enhance environments.
Q: How long have you worked with Artfinder and what is your role in the company?
I lead partnerships and trade for Artfinder, working with interior designers, developers and businesses to source and procure art for their projects around the world. You may come across me when I’m sourcing for a project, thinking about a commission for a bespoke proposal or procuring your works for my clients.
Q: What have been your highlights of working with Artfinder so far?
Getting to know some of the Artfinder artists has been a real highlight for me so far. I’ve worked with artists my whole career, and I’ve found the Artfinder community to be so welcoming, engaged, and making wonderful work!
Q: Do you come from a creative background? Do you engage in creative activities yourself?
I started out as a painter, and studied classical Italian painting including chiaroscuro and portraiture when I was first out of school, and then went on to receive a joint honours degree in Fine Art & Music. Since then, my whole career has been in the art world, from working for a Blue-Chip artist to many years in an auction house, and latterly art galleries and now Artfinder. While I don’t paint much at the moment, I scratch that creative itch with embroidery and knitting. I love to make beautiful things for loved ones.
Q: What does working for a B Corp mean to you?
I love the aim of using business as a force for good, assisting artists in making a living and enriching peoples day to day lives with beautiful art.
Q: What do you like doing in your spare time?
I spend most of my time with my young children, we do a lot of arts and crafts!
Q: The past few years have been challenging with world events such as Covid and the War in Ukraine. How do you look after your mental health when going through difficult times?
I love to be outside and I prioritise this daily. We have a very enthusiastic cocker spaniel so she makes it easy to get outside a lot.
Q: If you could take only three items with you to a desert island, what would they be?
My family, sun cream and a good book.
Q: Finally, do you have any message for our community?
I’m really excited to work with more of you and place your artworks in wonderful environments! You may hear from me from time to time about projects.
