Standing up to #ArtWorldSexism on International Women's Day - we did it!

100 artists. 100 balloons. We came, we saw, we stood up for gender equality!

This International Women's Day marks the culmination of our campaign to stand up to #ArtWorldSexism.

And we celebrated it in style by standing up to art world sexism outside the National Gallery (where only 20 of the 2,300 artworks are by women), with 100 Artfinder artists - and 52 red and 48 blue balloons to represent the gender split on our brilliantly equal marketplace.

What's more, our entire community of 10,000 artists all over the world have got involved too - making art around what gender equality means to them.

An anonymous female account from the high end: part of our standing up to #ArtWorldSexism series

“To put it simply, works that have taken so much love and energy have not been valued as they should have been, because it is part of patriarchal culture to systematically downgrade women’s work.”
