Artist Interview - Olga Rokhmanyuk

Our community of artists is the core foundation of Artfinder. With such a vast community based in all corners of the world, we wanted to help them share more about their artist journey, their artistic process and technique and what inspires them. Today, we chat with one of our amazing painters, Olga Rokhmanyuk.

Can you introduce yourself, where you are from and how long you have been with Artfinder for?

Olga Rokhmanyuk | ROArtUS. I was born in Ukraine in Kyiv, now I live and paint my paintings in the USA in Richmond. I joined Artfinder in November 2022 and a month later in December 2022 I sold my painting "Mechanical daisies" through Artfinder.

How would you describe your work?

I never make sketches for my paintings; I always draw what I feel at the moment.

What influences you and your work?

A general unified context of what I want to draw, what the air is saturated with, what I can’t help but draw, and what gives joy to me and those around me.

What does your creative process involve?

Find time to be alone with canvas and paints. And then magic and joy.

Have you changed as an artist overtime?

Every day I get better. When I look at my early works, I understand that now I would draw a little differently. Each new level brings a smile from what I considered to be the results at my previous level, but without this there would be no movement forward.

What’s your favourite artwork you created and why?

"Lotuses on a blue background" Flower buds are a subtle manifestation of life and joy, leaves are a symbol of stability, support and energy, a light background is a projection of future peace and love. As part of the infinity and beginning lessness of life in the universe.

What do you think is the role of art/artists in society?

Visual representation of the auditory, kinaesthetic and discrete spectrum.

What advice do you have for emerging artists looking to make a living out of their art career?

Nothing can be fully appreciated until you have first-hand experience.
