About Yuliia Prokopchuk

  • Biography
Hello Artfinder Team, My name is Yuliia, and I am an artist from Odesa, Ukraine. My family, my garden, and botanical painting are what I cherish most. I carefully study the plants I grow, and I also travel extensively, visiting botanical gardens in different countries. This allows me to paint from life and gives my work its unique character. Professional Education:  • Kharkiv Art College  • Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts. Watercolor is my primary medium, as it allows me to achieve both realism and a more fluid, expressive style. I believe watercolor has a natural harmony that makes it especially appealing in interior spaces. My paintings are about emotions, beauty, care, and the protection of the plant world. Nature and plants are my constant inspiration; they motivate me to keep creating.  Also, I am a member of the following associations:  • Member of SBA (Society of Botanical Artists, 2024–2025)  • Member of ABA (Association of Botanical Artists, 2024–2025)  • Member of SUBA  (Society of Ukrainian Botanical Artists, 2024–2025) The latest exhibitions I have participated in:  • “Between worlds”, Taras Shevchenko National Museum, Kyiv, Ukraine  • "Plantae 2025", at the Mall Galleries, London, UK  •  "BAWW Ukraine 2025", National Museum of Natural History, Kyiv, Ukraine  •  "Blooming", Kas Art House (Sanatevi), Turkiye I would be delighted to join the Artfinder community to present my art to an international audience, connect with new admirers of botanical painting, and become part of the artist community. Thank you sincerely for taking the time to review my application, and I look forward to hearing from you! Sincerely, Yuliia Prokopchuk

    Event: Between worlds

    Dates: 18 Sep 2025 - 12 Oct 2025

Venue: Taras Shevchenko National Museum, Taras Shevchenko Boulevard, 12 Kyiv Ukraine 01004

“Between Worlds” is an invitation to experience multidimensionality without delay — to see how the home garden resonates with the botanical garden, and how the human world intertwines with the world of nature.

“Between Worlds” is an exhibition that transforms a shared wound into an ecology of resilience. By bringing together botanical painting and contemporary art, it reveals that even in the realm of nothingness, life shapes new meanings, while art offers us a map to move from ruin to renewal.

To live “between worlds” means to act “here and now”: to plant, to nurture, to create, to support, to share, to believe.

    Event: BAWW Ukraine 2025

    Dates: 18 May 2025 - 16 Nov 2025

Venue: The National Museum of Natural History of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Bohdana Khmelnytskoho Str., 15, Kyiv, Ukraine

    “Looking Back for Our Future”

This is the second time Ukraine is taking part in a global project of this scale. Botanical Art Worldwide is an international initiative that unites botanical art organizations and cultural institutions across six continents.

In Ukraine, the exhibition is dedicated to the country’s agricultural crops — not hybrid plants, but those that have always been with us, shaping our landscapes and everyday life.

This is more than an art project; it is an invitation to pause and look back: at what the land has given us, what we have sown and harvested, and what has sustained us. For only by remembering our roots can we confidently shape the future.

At the center of the exhibition is botanical illustration, which is both a precise science and an art form. The works, executed in watercolor, graphite, pastel, and colored pencil, are distinguished by meticulous detail, deep knowledge of nature, and a sincere love for the subject.

    Event: Florentime

    Dates: 11 Jul 2025 - 20 Aug 2025

Venue: South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University, Odesa, Ukraine

This exhibition stands as a powerful symbol of resilience, renewal, and the pursuit of beauty despite the trials of war. Its significance is heightened by the fact that it is the first exhibition to open following the damage inflicted on the faculty by military actions.

The display features more than 100 botanical illustrations created by around 50 talented artists from 12 regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Odesa, Poltava, Kryvyi Rih, Kharkiv, Lviv, and others.

Each illustration is an artistic exploration of flowers and plants — a study and celebration of their form, plasticity, textures, and colors, revealing the extraordinary harmony of nature through the lens of fine art.

    Event: Plantae 2025

    Dates: 28 May 2025 - 7 Jun 2025

Venue: Mall Galleries, Mall Galleries, London

This milestone event featured a curated selection of works by SBA members, graduates of the SBA Distance Learning Diploma Course, and non-members from around the world. In addition, Plantae 2025 showcased the first works of the National Trust’s Munstead Wood Florilegium, as well as 9 works from the Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium Society and the winners of the RHS Rhododendrons, Camellias and Magnolias Group Competition, which was exclusively open to SBA members.

The exhibition encompasses the entire plant kingdom, depicted in a variety of media, including watercolour, oil, gouache, acrylic, graphite, coloured pencil, pen and ink, as well as three-dimensional works such as ceramics, glass, sculpture, and jewellery. Each piece reflects botanical accuracy, artistic excellence, and originality.

    Event: Blooming

    Dates: 10 Apr 2025 - 20 Apr 2025

Venue: Kas Art House (Sanatevi), Turkiye, Kas

This exhibition is about a colorful and sensory universe. Beyond their inherent beauty and drama, flowers are also used as symbols, signs, or metaphors for human emotions and impulses. Flora lies at the heart of myths and stories that shape our cultural worldview and language. Recognized as some of nature’s most sublime creations, flowers continue to inspire artists, who draw upon their power and beauty to convey a multitude of messages and meanings.

    Event: Invisible Gardens

    Dates: 10 Oct 2024 - 27 Oct 2024

Venue: Taras Shevchenko National Museum, Taras Shevchenko Boulevard, 12 Kyiv Ukraine 01004

The exhibition “Invisible Gardens” unfolds across six halls, guiding visitors on a journey through different dimensions: vanishing, inner, unseen, invented, and eternal gardens. Each space invites contemplation, turning the exploration of artworks into a personal voyage.

At its heart, the exhibition reminds us that our inner world can be a source of renewal, no matter the external circumstances. Just as nature is able to regenerate after catastrophe, we too can find inner strength and restore our spiritual landscapes even in the most challenging times.

Like endangered plants, invisible gardens call for our attention, care, and protection. Through this exhibition, we invite you not only to reflect on urgent ecological questions but also to rediscover the invisible gardens within yourself.

    Event: United by Watercolor

    Dates: 15 Mar 2024 - 5 May 2024

Venue: Museum of Western and Eastern Art, Ukraine, Odesa

    International charity exhibition.
The work exhibited was sold during the exhibition and all proceeds were donated to charity.
