About Victoria Ramanovich

  • Biography
I was born in Belarus and now live in Spain. After training as an artist, I stepped away from painting for eight years. It was only after moving to Spain that it returned to my life, emerging through a direct engagement with nature. Working predominantly in plein air, I see painting as a form of attentive presence — a state of immersion in which perception sharpens and fleeting moments can be held, if only briefly. My practice is shaped by a sensitivity to the shifting nature of what is seen: the fluidity of colour, the dissolution of form, and the transition from one sensation to another. I paint directly from life, allowing the work to unfold intuitively rather than constructing it in advance. I am not interested in describing reality, but in conveying its atmosphere and inner rhythm. I allow forms to blur and merge, retaining only what feels essential, while remaining true to the experience of seeing.
