    Curating my artwork for an exhibition

    I was invited to take part in a group show in Cascais, where I live, by a gallery in the Citadel art district with 18 other artists. Curating art for an exhibition is not an easy task because while I'd love to show all my work that is unsold, I can't, so choosing just a few pieces is almost like choosing your favourite children... impossible.

    When I created my collection Submerse, I used a lot of different shades of blue, bringing the ocean tranquility and the magical power of water into my studio. It was a collection that was half sold out in the pre-sale - there's something special about blue.

    I love working on the floor, especially with large scale canvases or paper. It allows me to move freely between works, let the paint drip and splash everywhere, and even to feel part of my paintings. To fully immerse myself in the process....

    It's where my process ends and yours begins - finishing a collection always feels like a cathartic moment for me. Having peeled another layer, I invite the world to come and look, to be vulnerable with me, to connect, to feel inspired and empowered through my stories that I tell in my work.

    Where I get ideas

    Where I get ideas

    The ocean is where I feel the safest, calmest and most connected to myself. It's where I grew up, where I spent most of my childhood and adulthood, and today, it's where I get my ideas for colours, textures and even materials for my art. I always feel that this is where I belong, where I am at my best, without any masks or hesitations. I am me.
