About Vanessa Ryan

I decided to become a professional artist when I attended UCLA. I received a BA degree in art from that institution. I went on to exhibit and sell my work. I am driven to create art as a means of expressing my emotions. I love making my work colorful, as that is a way to express the joy that I feel in my life. I am an optimistic person who can find humor even in the darkest situations. And that shows in my work. Viewers have told me my work makes them smile. This is because my acrylic abstract paintings on canvas are quirky and not quite symmetrical, as if they desire to be perfect, but don't quite know how. Because nothing succeeds better than imperfection.
