About Tim Burden
Biography
Painting has been a vital part of my life ever since my late father, an accomplished artist, musician and writer, taught me to paint as a young boy. His guidance sparked a lifelong passion that still continues to grow. I paint in oils and describe my style as Impressionistic Realism - atmospheric, dramatic works that exist as mood pieces, intended more to stir emotion than convey a specific narrative. My paintings are cinematic and evocative, with a sense of movement and emotional intensity, and I try to infuse them with a romantic, dreamlike quality. While some works hint at narrative, I prefer to leave interpretation open, allowing viewers to experience each painting in their own way; enjoying how it’s painted rather than searching for meaning.
