About Szilvia Ipacs
Biography
I have always been interested in the deeper layers, the world behind things, the world that takes place behind the scenes, and in them one can hope for answers, perhaps explanations.
One of my main topics is our human relationships, our behavior and their
causes.
In my works, the reduced mode of communication can usually be observed.
Minimalistic
aspirations
are combined with constantly experimental methods, often with humor and
irony. In my abstract works, an important aspect is to let the material work as well,
thus creating the joint result of intentionality and randomness.
I want to show the surface and the depth at the same time. A 'personality' that
looks beautiful from afar, but shows a deeper, more grooved
world up close, and thus enriches its beauty, cast in the form of
pictures. In my installations, I like to invite the audience to play together, where I
give them the task of becoming a part of my work, which
is
often characterized by fictitious combinations of the past and the present,
endowed with human qualities.
