About Simon Bolton

  • Biography
Hi! And a worm welcome to my collection of work.

I'm Simon Bolton a painter from the north of England. I've painted since childhood and following Art School continued my practice on a professional basis.

My work has developed over the years mainly in a more self-expressive direction. Much of this is a result of my travels to different countries and museums visited. My inspiration comes from memories, sketches I've made, photos I've taken, and what surrounds me today.

I describe the approach to my work now as hovering between the familiar and abstraction. I'm particularly passionate about the infinite possibilities of colour combinations and the way in which this interacts with form.

In each piece of work I paint, my aim is to create something unique, something which captures you the viewer's imagination, and affects you in some way emotionally. That you enjoy the painting as much as I enjoyed creating it.

My work is held in collections both here in the UK and internationally.
