About Sal Barracca

Art is my lifes blood. When I was young I knew I would be an artist because nothing else appealed to me. I have spent the last 60 years in the field of art either as an art director, illustrator, illustrator's agent, gallery owner and painter. I now paint landscapes using either acrylics, oils or both. I start out creating an abstract in acrylics and look for something that looks like a landscape can be pulled out of it. I don't use any location to paint from but use my imagination to create a very appealing scene that really does not exist. 
I will use a multitude of tools from squeegees, palette knives. silicone scrapers, paper towels and brushes. I have no idea what will present itself to me which makes the process so exciting.
