Biography
“I create art that honors the beauty of automotive history — a time when machines were shaped by passion, moments mattered, and beauty was allowed to exist without justification.”
Roman Sedlak is a contemporary Czech artist celebrated for his photorealistic oil paintings that spotlight classic and exotic automobiles. With a keen eye for detail, he transforms high-performance machines into timeless works of art—filtering them through nostalgia, elegance, and architectural precision.
Photorealism Meets Emotion: Each painting exhibits impeccable realism—reflected chrome, detailed interiors, and striking light play—while preserving an atmospheric, often cinematic mood.
Balanced Compositions: Sedlak frequently juxtaposes vehicles with evocative backdrops—whether a gas-station tableau, a historic cityscape, or an ethereal void—enhancing narrative context and visual impact.
Rich Use of Color: Vivid, saturated hues—like the crimson of an Alfa Romeo or the flawless white of a Rolls Royce—contrast beautifully with deep shadows and purposeful negative spaces.
