  • I love to capture the drama in the landscape.   I explore my surroundings looking for what I find unusual which can inspire my painting.   This could be an historic building sitting alongside a modern office or a plant which looks like some creepy animal or simply an amazing sea view.

The making of my paintings is both on location and in the studio.    Painting the ever-changing light on location feeds a sense of urgency and energy into my work.     Studio painting takes a deeper, calmer approach using a variety of tools and media.   The choice of tools and media depend on the situation but invariably reflect a need to physically and intuitively manipulate the paint.   A sense of wonder and curiosity of the natural drama is at heart throughout.
