    Artist Statement – Olga Blazhko

My artistic journey began in early childhood and has evolved into a deep passion for capturing the fleeting beauty of the world around us. Through impressionism, I have found the most honest and intuitive way to express my emotions, thoughts, and experiences.

Nature and travel are my greatest sources of inspiration. I often paint alla prima, directly from life, which allows me to convey the light, atmosphere, and emotional depth of a moment as it unfolds. My goal as an artist is not just to recreate what I see, but to transmit the sensation of being present — to pause time, if only for a heartbeat.

Using high-quality oil paints, brushes, and palette knives, I create textured, expressive works that invite viewers to slow down and reconnect with the beauty of the natural world. Whether it's the vibrant colors of a blooming garden or the subtle hues of a sunset over water, each painting is a reflection of a lived and felt experience.

I believe art has the power to transform space, mood, and perspective — to bring freshness and emotional resonance into everyday life. As Goethe wrote: “If ever I to the moment shall say: Beautiful moment, do not pass away!” — this is the essence of my work.
