Nina passionately crafts traditional realism paintings and drawings, capturing nostalgic scenes like abandoned barns and classic cars, believing in the power of art to preserve fleeting moments. She has varied collections inspired by themes from her everyday life, including classic automobiles, motorcycles, boats, animals (primarily cats), nature, the Pacific Northwest, rural living, and snowboarding. Most of her work is created with colored pencil or acrylic paint. Nina has exhibited her artwork at local events in her small community, as well as participating in online exhibitions such as the Art Collide open theme Fall 2024 exhibition.

    Artist statement

I create my drawings and paintings with the intention to challenge myself, as I explore the temporary state of being. I like to think that I create art that tells the truth about the impermanence of life. Nothing lasts forever. Seasons change, and nature reclaims all things left unmaintained. Cars are scrapped, buildings are torn down or eroded, old lives pass on and make way for the new. When it's all gone, the artwork will preserve the beauty of it all and tell its story in some small way.
