  • I grew up in Sussex and now live on the edge of the New Forest in Hampshire in the UK.  I take my inspiration from the landscapes and seascapes around me, the Forest and Solent provide a rich source of seasonal material, colour and textural change.  I use acrylic paint and charcoal, on board or canvas, and work from sketches, photos and memory for reference. Paintings are semi-abstract and I use wide brushes, palette knives and rags with textural mediums to add form to the painted surface.  I want my paintings to evoke the atmosphere of the two distinct environments around me, from the yellow gorse on the heathland in Spring to the drama of the sea and skies around the coastline in Winter.
