Biography
ARTIST STATEMENT:
As a diary keeper, I have always been fascinated by how my personality evolves over time. I realize that I am not the same person I have been years ago and I seek to figure out what shaped this change.
My goal is to find and capture the chronotope of the moment when our perception shifts. In this sense, my works are visual diaries, tracing a moment of transformation in our minds.
In our era of AI-based knowledge I return to books as fragments and archives of collected human wisdom. To create a story in my painting, I lay carefully chosen book pages from my own private library as a background of accumulated thoughts behind the central figure and add the rhythm of movement.
These collage-like layers show complex fragmented histories that shape individual identity. Red threads reveal connective or restrictive forces: symbols of fate, control or attachment.
I see the evolution of consciousness as a necessary condition for personal and collective development. I hope that my art will contribute to this process.
BIO:
Natali Part is an interdisciplinary artist based in Vorarlberg, Austria. Her practice explores the evolution of consciousness and the layered nature of identity through collage-like paintings, using book pages as narrative framework. Born in Leningrad (USSR), in a Russian-Ukrainian family with a strong artistic heritage, Natali developed an early engagement with literature, dance and visual arts. After completing her BA in Literature in Russia and South Korea (Keimyung University), she worked for a major Korean company in St. Petersburg, studied philosophy and world religions, and was active as volunteer in projects across Russia and the USA. In 2003 she relocated to Austria, where a period of cultural displacement led her return to artistic practice. Working with personal diaries and books she developed her own visual language centered on fragmentation, connection and inner transformation. Natali has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and the USA. In 2025 she was selected as finalist by Artmajeur in the categories “Women Who Inspire” and “Nostalgic Art”. Her works are held in private collections in Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, Greece, Germany, England, the USA, South Korea, Ukraine, and Russia.
