About Nadejda Izosimova
Biography
My name is Nadya Izosimova, I am an artist from Moldova. I work with painting, embroidery, and performance, exploring vulnerability, sincerity, and childlike naivety as forms of resistance against the cynicism of contemporary life. Tradition, myth, and the body are central to my practice, serving as sources of consolation and as ways to transform personal experience into something universal and shared.
I prefer to work with natural materials, as materiality itself plays a crucial role in my artistic language. Line, color, texture, and form become tools for expressing fragile states and emotions, as well as for searching for a living connection. I trust intuition and the process, allowing the work to reveal itself, and in this way my personal experience turns into imagery that invites dialogue with the viewer.
For me, art is a spiritual practice and a form of quiet resistance. It is a space of freedom and courage, where individual stories can resonate on a collective level. I hope my work creates an atmosphere of intimacy and honesty, evoking in the viewer a sense of tenderness, beauty, and presence that makes us feel truly alive.
