  • Marina immigrated to the US in the 90s from Odessa, Ukraine, where she got her diploma in Theater Arts and Puppet building. She got her BFA graduating from SVA. In 1999 she joins the ASLNY where she studies printmaking in Michael Pellettieri’s class. She received Merit scholarship and was selected two times as a Red Dot winner.

    Together with her husband Eli, who is also an artist, she created "IDEA" – an aesthetic Center for children where she teaches painting, drawing and art history. Together they also organized “IDEA” art and theater camp and annual trips to Europe as a special cultural enrichment program.

    Marina lives on Staten Island with her husband Eli (he is a sculptor and a printmaker) and their two sons Leo and Roman at their Bomzhstar Residence which is marked as a private museum on Google maps.

     Though Marina consider herself primarily a Symbolist, her art draws on a wide variety of mythologies, worldviews, religions, and literary traditions, both ancient and modern, ranging from Buddhism to Russian folklore.
