About Marina Klimanova

  • Biography
I am a follower of a certain trend called narrative figuration.  These are visual images of the surrounding reality, receiving the most unexpected interpretation and processing in my paintings. This "reuse" of popular signs and cliches removes the authoritarianism of their primary message, allowing other ways of artistic storytelling to be found. This style has been following my entire creative line since the very beginning of my artistic career.  I have a lot of work done in this area. I believe that art should be a powerful tool for new social transformations, changing the aesthetic view of things that are already familiar to us.
