About QIYI (David) LIU
Biography
My name is Qiyi Liu (David Liu), a classically trained painter with nearly 50 years of artistic practice. I currently live and work in New York, having immigrated to the United States in 2022 under the EB-1 visa as an internationally recognized artist. For most of my career I taught painting and served as Head of Fine Arts at a leading university in Shanghai, China.
Over the decades, my work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, earning multiple awards and honors. My artistic focus spans Realism, Naturalism, Classical and Neo-Classical traditions, as well as Impressionism. I am dedicated to preserving traditional techniques across portraiture, landscape, and still life, while seeking to express both beauty and truth through my art.
Many of my works are held in private collections in China and abroad. Now, by joining Artfinder, I hope to share my passion for classical painting with a global audience, connecting with collectors who value craftsmanship, tradition, and emotional depth in art.
