  • Since I was a child I’ve been drawing and painting everything around me that caught my attention or fascinated me. I think that was my way of trying to understand the world and to create my own vision of it. My work centers on the process of painting and I let myself be guided by it, by balancing continuously the shapes and colours that interact with the figurative subject(s). I work on several series, one of them are animals. All the world’s animal species, the big and the small ones, the rare and the familiar ones, pets and wild animals. For me they represent the fascinating nature, so I wish to portray them as long as they continue to exist in this variety. Therefore, I extract them from their habitual surrounding and fit them in an abstract, pictorial universe. At the first glance the unusual subject‘s background might surprise the observer, nevertheless it permits to open a new vision to him. My passion for painting combined with the fascination for nature accompany me during the creation of every single artwork. Most of my artworks are painted in oil colours, only few in acrylic. I often work by layers, applying the colour with a brush, a spatula or scumbling it, always reacting on the given shapes and colours as long as this process is necessary for finding the right balance. The dimensions of my paintings are variable, I paint on all sizes of canvases, from very small to large ones.
For me, painting is a process that accompanies me day by day.
