About Kirsten Schmidt

  • Biography
My name is Kirsten Schmidt and I am a sculptor and printmaker. I live and work in North East London but am originally from Germany. I graduated from Camberwell College of Art in London and fell in love with printmaking after my degree.
I create those in my garden studio, printing them all by hand. I love the process of printmaking, of working on the printing plate first and then the print, often hand colouring it afterwards. My first love is drawing in nature and most of my linocuts and etchings derive from this.
