About Jo Davies
Biography
I create paintings as a way of slowing the world down.
Living and working between Suffolk and the island of Kefalonia, I’m drawn to quiet horizons, softened coastlines, and the subtle shift of light across open simple space. My work is not about depicting a specific place, but about capturing the feeling of distance, stillness, and calm.
I work intuitively with acrylic, building texture through palette knife and layered tonal washes. Muted, chalky neutrals and restrained compositions allow each piece to feel grounded yet open understated, but quietly present.
I’m less interested in making bold statements and more focused on creating work that lives easily within interiors, paintings that offer pause, balance, and space to breathe.
I’m drawn to Artfinder because it values original, thoughtfully made work and connects artists directly with collectors who appreciate authenticity and craftsmanship. My paintings are made to be lived with, to sit quietly in homes, adding depth and calm over time.
