How's everyone? Wherever you are I hope you are all staying well. I am back with the 1st blog post of Nov with new artwork fresh off my easel!

Featured artwork in the photos : Love Forever –Protea, Waratah, Banksia and Leucadendron (2023) 40.6 x 50.8 x 4 cm Acrylic on Acid-free, premium pine frame double thick canvas. Painted with palette knives and brushes. Sealed with clear spray varnish. Side panels painted. Signed at the front and ready to hang. Affirmation: Love goes on in the joyous season. To experience the seasons, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom around my surroundings, during its flowering season. This artwork was inspired by a day trip to Queenscliff, Victoria. This gorgeous bouquet caught my attention. All the native flowers in this flower arrangement bloom gloriously just like the beautiful sunny day that we had that day. This is my 2nd depiction of the beautiful bouquet, the former one was painted in a bigger size. The Red Waratah flower (Telopea), native to the south-eastern parts of Australia - New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania, is the symbol of undying love. The bright red Telopea speciosissima is also the NSW state emblem. The white Protea Niobe (Protea magnifica x laurifolia) has light yellow flowers with trims of soft black, purplish foliage that outline the tips of the petals. Protea is also associated with change and transformation, and diversity. I am especially in love with the story behind the name: In Greek legend, proteas were named after Proteus, the son of Poseidon. A sea god who had the power to know all things past, present, and future. Banksia menziesii, also known as firewood banksia or strawberry banksia. Leaves are dull green with new growth in greyish green. Flowers are often in two-coloured red or pink and yellow. Banksia symbolizes rebirth and new beginnings. To move on from the past courageously, to have the strength to look forward to tomorrow. Leucadendrons are often used to convey an appreciation for simplicity in life. Simple beauty is one of the most popular meanings for this bloom. As for my all-time favourite - Pine leaves, are often considered to be a symbol of longevity and endurance because of their ability to withstand harsh conditions. All the native blossoms bloom gloriously. A precious memory that I would like to cherish forever. Therefore, I have the title - Love Forever, for this particular artwork. Meanwhile, If you would like to collect any particular piece, visit my Artfinder Profile for direct purchase. I truly hope you enjoy these artworks as I do. Stay safe wherever you are & happy collecting. Warm Regards, Artist, HSIN LIN

📯Now On Show : 18 Oct - 19 Dec2023 - HSIN LIN‘s solo exhibition - Blossoms of Life – at Wyreena Arts Centre, Invited by Maroondah City Council.

Hello everyone ! I will be at Wyreena Community Arts Centre tomorrow (21 Oct) for Artist Talk from 12- 2pm, come say hi if you are around the area . Looking forward to meet everyone at my 2023 solo exhibition ! The Arts Lounge Exhibition - Hsin Lin's Solo : Blossoms of Life (Room 2) 18 October - 19 December 2023 Image: A Lifetime Sunshine - Corymbia Ficifolia / Hsin Lin / acrylic on canvas Lin is inspired by her close observation of the natural world. Through a process of careful looking Lin is able to capture an incredible amount of intricate detail. To create the larger-scale work, Lin normally spends 6-12 months developing the intricate composition. The fine details such as the tiny petals have been developed through ten or more layers of paint. Lin describes that ‘although still-life is considered a traditional genre, each object in the paintings stands for a different meaning and has its own story. Flowers represent us as humans, vases represent the body carrying our soul, protecting us like a shield. The weaving basket stands for connections—the bonds between families, friends and all the people around us. Even if you are apart, everyone is still being linked together as a whole and we are stronger together.’ Lin’s paintings, a series of flowers in full bloom, remind us that we are alive, and that life is vibrant, blossoming, and full of potential. It’s rich in texture and shines beautifully when you look at the physical painting. Artist Acrylic on canvas. Affirmation: Listen to the whispers in your heart. Taking a break is for accomplishing a longer, better journey. There’s also a saying that black cockatoo stands for the energy of empowerment, happiness and contentment. The power of spirit come into our life, a strengthening of our own spirit and soul. Yellow-tailed black cockatoo, a large cockatoo native to Australia. It has a short crest on the top of its head. Its plumage is brownish black and it has prominent yellow cheek patches and a yellow tail band. Body feathers are edged with yellow giving a beautiful scalloped appearance. I spotted this gorgeous during my visiting to Tasmania last summer with my family. We have a lot of white cockatoos in our area but rarely a black one.
